We tried so hard to make things better for out kids taht we made them worse. For my grandchildren,I’d know better.

I’d really ike for them to know about hand-me-downs clothes and homemade ice cream and leftover meat loaf.I really would.

My cherished grandson,I hope you learn humility by being humiliated and that you learn honesty by being cheated.

I hope you learn to make your bed and mow the lawn and wash the car- and I hope nobody gives you a brand-new car when you are 16.And I hope you have a job by then.

It will be good if at least one time you can see a baby calf born and see your old dog put to sleep.I hope you get a black eye fighting for something you believe in.

I hope you have to share a bedroom with you younger brother. And it is all ight to draw a line down the middle of the roon,but-when he wants to crawl under the covers with you because he’s scared,I hope you’ll let him in.

And when you want to see a Disney movie, and your kid brother wants to tag along I hope you take him.

I hope you have to walk uphill with your friends and that you live in a town where you can do it safely.

And rainy days when you have to hitch a ride I hope your driver doesn’t have to drop you two blocks away so you won’t be seen riding with somebody as uncool as your mom.

If you want a slingshop,I hope your father teaches you how to make one instead of buying one.I hope you learn to dig in the dirt and read books, and when you learn to use those newfangled computers, you also learn how to add and subtract in your head.

I hope you get razzed by friends when you have you rfirst crush on a girl, and that when you talk back to your mother I hope you learn what Ivory soap tastes like.

May you skin your kneww climbing a mountain, burn your hand on the stove and stick your tongue on a frozen flagpole.

I hope yu get sick when ome stupid old person blows cigar smoke in your face.I don’t care if you try beer once, but I hope you won’t like it.And if a friend offers you a joint or any dope I hope you a re smart enough to realize he is not your friend.

I sure hope you mak time to sit on the porch with your grandpa or go fishing with your uncle.May you feel sorrow at a funder and the joy of holidays.

I hope you rmother puishes you when yu throw a baseball through a neighbor’s window and taht she hugs you and kisses you at Christman time when you give her a plaster of Paris mold of your hand.

These things I wish for you-tough times and disappointmen, hard work and happiness.

  Not bad thoughts….

My chidren are growing up….long before I thought they would! As the mother of two girls and 2 boys ,I get the best (and er…interesting)side of both genders. My dear oldest daughter is becoming more emotional these days.We females are emotional by nature so I want to be sensative to her but i want her to learn how to reign them in as well.I will not have a daughter that uses her emotions to get what she wants. It helps that she has a wise daddy that won’t let that fly either.:) Her and I have had our moments of butting heads about things but I don’t wanat there to be distance between us.I want to help her and be someone that she can always talk to without fear of me making fun or making light of what she’s feeling.I want her to grow up self confident, gentle, compassionate and with a good sense of humor-able to laugh at herself.I need to understand that she’s her own person too and not squelch her, just the bad attitudes, ect.Praying for wisdom….

Little boys…they’re a fun lot..ssoooo differnt from us females.Although..we’re still trying to train the overly-emotional side of my 3 year old.He can still start bawling when he can’t work something. It gets old after a day of it!!:OMy almost 6 year old is very industrious and loves building and tying things. He’s not very interested in reading and sitting down with lessons.I’m not pushing him too much at this point.he’s starting to get old enough that my lack of logic sometimes annoys him.He needs his dad more and more these days.:)Good thing he’s got a good one.

After the above,I feel like i need to point out the GOOD traits in my children….

Rana is beautiful, graceful, motherly, helpful, has a great sense of humor and loves her family.

Javan is strong, helpul, has sensative moments, dotes on his little sister and loves working with dad.Rana does too…

Liam is learning to control himself better,is nice to Ellianna, helps mamma, loves to be with daddy.

Ellianna definantly has some personality. She’s happy most of the time and is learning to obey. She loves to give bear…er..cub hugs and kisses.

 Thankyou,Lord for these great blessings!!!

Here are some of things I use in my household….

 Melaleuca laundrey soap

Shaklee Basic G and Basic H

 Tom’s of Main toothpaste

Herbal bar soaps from the whole foods store

  Vinegar and baking soda

 Organics lemon tea tree shampoo

 Eves Roche baby wash

 More later…..

We’ve ended another day of our lessons as we call them. We’re full gear into homeschooling.Rana is doing well.I’m getting into sort of a groove.I’ve never been organized so I MADE myself sit down and plan out all her subjects and now it’s all clear in from of me.I don’t want to lose the flexability of skipping a day if daddy’s home or “just because” or “it’s raining, let’s bake cookies and watch a movie”!! I think those are great memory makers.I also don’t want to lose the focus that our entire lives are a schooling experience. We should have the goal of learning something new all the time.I know that there are certain subjects that each o the kids will have their favorites and not so favorites on but those are just drops in he bucket for all the possibilities there are for them.I want my children to be homecentered but not so much that when they’re old enough they’ll be afraid of what’s “out there”.Elisha and I have bright ,beautiful children and we want to keep that spark alive.I just hope I can keep up!!:):)

Tonight we’re going to a field hospital demonstration at our Local Historical Museum. It should be interesting.I believe it’s a field hospital from the Civil War Era.Elisha and I are both on the board which is kinda cool.E has been in a few re-enactments and enjoys being envolved. As the mother of 4,my participation is rathr limited but we hope to get the kids some Civil War era costumes so they can be in some of the re-enactments as well.
